Kane County is currently considered as being "High level" under the state's transmission index. We encourage everyone to listen to your healthcare professionals and to take all necessary and appropriate safety precautions to help limit the spread of this virus. To help reduce any potential spread it is encouraged to avoid in-persons visits when possible. Primary Residential Exemption: The primary residential exemption is a 45% reduction in the value of a qualified property. In order to receive the exemption the owner must apply. To learn more about the exemption click the following link. Primary Residential Exemption Information
2019 property values now appear in the Public Retrieval link. If you feel the county value is incorrect, instructions for filing an appeal will be included on the 2019 Disclosure Notice. Additional filing information and forms may be obtained on this website under Board of Equalization (BOE). Appeals for the 2019 tax year have to be submitted to the Kane County Auditor's Office no later than 5:00 PM on September 16, 2019.
