Primary Residential Exemption:  The primary residential exemption is a 45% reduction in the value of a qualified property. In order to receive the exemption the owner must apply.  To learn more about the exemption click the following link. Primary Residential Exemption Information


2021 property values now appear in the Public Retrieval link.  If you feel the county value is incorrect, instructions for filing an appeal will be included on the 2021 Disclosure Notice.  Additional filing information and forms may be obtained on this website under Board of Equalization (BOE).  Appeals for the 2021 tax year have to be submitted to the Kane County Auditor's Office no later than 5:00 PM on September 15, 2021.
