We at Kane County Sheriff's Office are greatly saddened for the loss of our friend, our brother and our colleague, Deputy Brian Harris, who until the very end performed his duties and responsibilities with honor and integrity.

Critical Incident Task Force Investigative Protocol

It is the policy of Kane County that for any Officer Involved Critical Incident (as defined in Utah Code Section 76-2-408), that the Washington County Critical Incident Task Force will be requested to investigate the incident. If they declare a conflict with the specific incident, the task force for Iron, Garfield and Beaver Counties will be requested to investigate. For purposes of the investigation the protocols adopted by the relevant task force are adopted by Kane County to ensure a professional, thorough, and impartial investigation. For your convenience, a copy of the Washington County Critical incident Task Force Investigative Protocol can be found here:
