Board of Equalization

All appeals must include a complete Request Form for Property Value Review (see document link)

Dear Property Owner:

The links below contain information that will assist you in appealing the market value of your property to the Kane County Board of Equalization. The current market value of your property was determined by an experienced appraiser, as required by Utah Code 59-2-701, using appraisal techniques which are recognized as standard valuation procedures. If you have definite information that would support an adjustment to the market value, please contact the Kane County Assessor's office at (435) 644-4926 immediately.

Please remember that you must have proper documentation setting forth the facts supporting your request for an adjustment to the value of the subject property. Your appeal will be denied if you fail to provide the minimum evidence required by the Board. Some examples of minimum evidence are listed in the "Request for Review" and are as follows: recent sale of the property; recent appraisal of the property; comparison with other properties; income generated by the property; cost to construct; etc. Please return the "Request for Review" as early in the month of August as possible to allow processing time. Board of Equalization hearings will be scheduled by appointment on a first filing basis.

If you have questions with regard to completing the application, call the Clerk's office at (435) 644-2458.

Sincerely,
Kane County Clerk/Auditor
